🔍 Discover the Thrill of an Escape Room
An escape room is an innovative, real-life, team-based game that relies on cooperation and collaboration. Team members must discover clues, solve puzzles, manipulate their surroundings, and accomplish tasks to achieve a shared goal within a set time—usually 60 minutes.
🚪 You Enter the Escape Room… But It’s Not What It Seems
Upon entering, the room appears ordinary—until you start noticing locked objects, drawers, and doors that won’t open. Curiosity kicks in as you explore every nook and cranny, finding intriguing items.
Perhaps someone finds an hourglass and flips it over. As the sand clears, a hidden message is revealed: “Hit song.” Another team member flips over a similar hourglass, revealing, “by Survivor.”
The team communicates what they’ve discovered, sparking new connections. Someone shouts, “Here’s a Survivor CD with Eye of the Tiger!” Another player inspects a tiger painting closely, spotting a hidden “231” in the tiger’s eye. The team leader suggests trying “231” on a nearby chest with a tiger symbol and a 3-digit lock.
The lock clicks open, and another mysterious clue appears. And so the adventure continues, with the team piecing together the puzzles until the room’s objective is achieved.
🎯 A Variety of Objectives Beyond Escaping the Escape Room
While escaping the room is the goal in many scenarios, some adventures are different. You might need to repair a spaceship, find evidence to exonerate your boss, or save a captive from a dragon-guarded castle. In others, you could be trying to activate a force-field to avoid a dinosaur attack! Whatever the mission, the theme adds to the experience, making each room truly unique.
💡 Requesting Hints When You Hit a Wall
Most escape rooms, including SAGE! Escape Room, offer a hint system for teams who feel stuck. Typically, every team member must agree to request a hint. The Game Proctor will explain how hints work and outline any rules before the game begins. Following these rules ensures safety, maximizes fun, and helps keep the adventure moving forward.
